My editorial services are designed to answer your questions about your writing and help you reach your target audience.

You can be assured that the importance of maintaining the author’s tone and voice will be high on my “to do” list, as we collaborate to elevate your writing from good to great.

An editor, author, and instructor with degrees and backgrounds in fine arts and nursing – an interesting combination that thrives on detail, creativity, and personal interaction – I’ve built an eclectic group of clientss. My writing and editorial experience includes:

  • personal essays
  • short stories
  • blog and webpage articles
  • book reviews
  • action-thriller novels
  • historical fiction
  • non-fiction books on a small town’s 200-year history (including book design and formatting), wilderness survival, stress reduction, new-product summaries, baseball,  entrepreneur growth, Christian-based books on relationships, life-planning for the high school to college transition, and business materials – manuals, job descriptions, and handbooks for a diverse mix of professions such as wedding planners, physicians, dentists, authors, small businesses (including non-profits), publishers, and marketing companies.
  • I wrote and edited for a publishing company for the past four years. My work focuses on fiction books, education textbooks, digital materials and other materials for children from K-3 to G-12. I enjoyed writing quizzes to test reading comprehension, creating promotional materials, and editing webpages for them.

My creative writing classes include loads of fun and lots of imagination to help students master the craft and art of writing. A Pushcart Prize nominee in 2008, I’m the published author of articles, short stories, novels, and personal essays. Editorial credits include four anthologies, three published novels, and workshop presentations. A founding board member of the Emerald Coast Writers in Destin, Florida, I co-founded the Mobile Writers Group in Mobile, Alabama. Writing and editing often centers on isolated pursuits; I believe it is vital for writers to commiserate and build a viable network.

The Chicago Manual of Style is my touchstone for editing manuscripts, and I also work comfortably with AP style, as well as mastering in-house style guides. As you scroll through the diversity of editing and writing services I offer, I understand that they can be a  little daunting for beginners, so please feel free to contact me with your questions and ideas, using the form below.
